The Polar Bear is one of the strongest companions you can tame in 99 Nights in the Forest.
It’s a tanky, high-tier animal that requires a Strong Flute and plenty of food.
Once tamed, it becomes a powerful ally that can withstand heavy attacks and help you survive longer runs.
How to Tame a Polar Bear in 99 Nights in the Forest
Step 1: Get a Strong Flute
To tame a Polar Bear, you must have a Strong Taming Flute.
If you only have an Old or Good Flute, focus on taming lower-tier animals like Wolves, Arctic Foxes, and Scorpions to level up your flute.
Every successful tame fills the flute XP bar, which you can upgrade at the Upgrade Building near your camp.
The Strong Flute unlocks the ability to tame tougher creatures, including Bears, Polar Bears, Mammoths, and Hellephants.
Step 2: Play the Taming Minigame
Approach the Polar Bear and step into the green circle to start the taming minigame.
Keep the red line inside the highlighted green area until the taming bar fills up.
Because Polar Bears are strong and aggressive, expect several successful attempts before you fully calm it.
Having the Zookeeper class can make this process smoother, and carrying a few bandages is smart in case you take damage during failed attempts.
Step 3: Feed the Polar Bear
Once the Polar Bear is calmed, it will demand specific food items. For each tame, you’ll need:
- Stew x1
- Rib x1
Since Polar Bears require 5 successful tames, the total food needed is:
- Stew x5
- Rib x5
Feed these after each successful flute interaction to complete the taming.

Why Tame a Polar Bear
The Polar Bear is a top-tier defensive companion.
