1. Meteor totem
The meteor totem as the name implies, basically gives you the ability to spawn a meteor. To be more specific, you can create a meteor to fall and land in an ancient isle.
Its crash creates a crater and right in the middle is where you can find a rare gemstone. You can further use these rare gemstones to craft fishing rods if you want to improve your performance, or just add said rod to your collections.
2. Eclipse totem
The eclipse totem summons an eclipse that can kickstart the Eclipse event at the server. But the catch is, you can only use it during the day.
It is exceptionally useful if you’re looking for a phantom megalodon. This rare fish spawns during the weekends and under a natural occurring eclipse or at night after a manually summoned one.
3. Sundial totem
This is one of the most used totems in the game because it gives you the power to control night and day. Seriously, with this totem you can quickly switch between night and day or speed up the in game time.
With this power, you have the opportunity to hunt for the elusive megalodon. Fun fact, using the sundial totem grants the player the made in heaven title, a not so subtle nod to JoJo’s bizarre adventures.
4. Aurora totem
If you are looking for a little bit of luck, then the aurora totem might just be what you need. When used at night, it activates the Aurora Borealis server event which grants the player 9x more luck, that’s an 800% luck boost for the entire server.
Plus, a more recent announcement shows that with this totem, you can summon the aurora rod. Which from our Tier list, is a decent rod for the early to mid game.
If you don’t want to spend a dime on server luck boost, then this totem is perfect for you.
5. Cursed storm totem
This totem spawns a cursed storm pool. When a player fishes in this pool, all fish will have 2x XP and a 5% more chance of having a cursed mutation.
This can make for a profitable find in the long run.
6. Blue moon totem
You can use this totem to trigger the blue moon event where you can catch new and possibly rare fishes. The blue moon event opens up two locations; One being the “First sea” and the other being the “Second sea”.
The best part is they both have two different bestiaries with a unique secret. However, the only downside to this totem is it can only be activated at Night, with clear weather, during the winter season.
7. Shiny totem
With this totem, you can instantly spawn a shiny surge. Which unlike other time specific totems on this list, can happen regardless of the time of the server.
The Shiny surge increases your chances of catching the shiny variant fish.
8. Poseidon’s wrath totem
The Poseidon’s wrath totem gives you the chance to activate the Poseidon wrath event. This increases your chances of catching a fish with the wrath mutation by 2%.
Plus, if used during a kraken hunt, the kraken has a 0.5% chance of becoming an ancient kraken. But gear up, because this is one of the hardest fishes to catch.
9. Tempest totem
When activated, the Tempest Totem changes the current weather to rain. It is one of those totems worth keeping for the benefits even though you can’t sell or trade it regardless.
In hindsight, you will mostly use it to get rare fishes especially fish that are partial to the Rain weather such as the emperor jellyfish. This totem pairs well with a rod equipped with a storming enchantment.
10. Smokescreen totem
The smokescreen totem makes the weather foggy. This totem is ideal if you’re on the hunt for fishes that prefer foggy weather conditions like the colossal squid and, crowned anglerfish.
It also increases your chances of catching the Moby by 5% when paired with the tempest totem during the whale migration event.
11. Avalanche totem
As the name implies, you can be use this totem to summon an avalanche, because natural avalanches are pretty rare in the game. Most importantly, you can use these avalanches to get the yellow energy crystal.
That is to say, this totem is essential in gathering said crystals needed to obtain the heavens rod, which is another decent addition to your collection.
12. Blizzard totem
The Blizzard totem summons a blizzard. Cool as that sounds (no pun intended), it is also the ideal time to catch a blighted and sleet mutation which have a 3x and 2.4x sell value respectively.
13. Sparkling totem
The sparkling totem triggers a Night of the luminous event. This event increases your chances of catching a sparkling variant fish.
14. Mutation totem
The mutation totem activates a mutation surge in any server. That is to say it temporarily increases your chances of catching a fish with more mutations.
However, you can’t use use it alongside some online events like “Night of the Luminous”.
15. Windset totem
This totem causes the weather to get windy, and it is yet another totem that cannot be traded or sold.
You won’t have to do either because the benefits are worth it. For example, when paired the breezed enchantment on fishing rods, you get a +65% luck during windy weather.
16. Zeus storm totem
Last but certainly not the least is the Zeus storm totem, and this totem gives players the ability to summon Zeus’s storm.
The catch however is there’s a 1 to 2% chance that any player caught in the storm can be struck down. While that is a terrible faith for anyone, the silver lining is you at least get the “Chosen by Zeus” title after you cease to exist.
But surviving the storm means you get a 10% chance of obtaining the Lightning mutation for every fish you catch. This mutation isn’t just a title either, it has the ability to boost its weight by 75-100%.
