Fisch is one of Roblox’s best fishing simulators ever released, and with each update it only gets better. And after recent updates, there is a lot more we can love about this game.
I mean these updates have it all, from new characters, quests, side quests, and of course new fishing rods.
But a more recent update, revolved around Merlin and his potential increase in power. Fast forward an update later, and we witnessed that power first hand.
As of now, Merlin is a lot more powerful than the wizard we once knew. And his powers come with a lot of perks, like the ability to grant relics, give you access to the Chasm, and craft strong gears.
Now while all these might seem a bit standard, I can assure you the new Rod he can craft is anything but. Merlin’s Staff Rod, is Fisch’s way of saying, here’s a great Rod with a strong catch (More on that later).
This is an amazing Rod, but to Craft it, you first need to meet or get certain required materials. In this article, I will be telling you everything you need to know about this rod, and my thoughts on its worth.

So without further delay, here’s how you can get it.
Requirements to get Merlin’s Staff Rod in Fisch
Now the first and most important thing you need to know is that this Rod is tied to the Upgraded Merlin. And to make him so, you need to complete Merlin’s Quest, before you can access the crafting.
Once you have done that, you’ll need all 4 of these items:
- 1,000,000C$
- Shard of Time
- Anomalous Log
- Iron Chunk
Now for most of these items, we do have an in-depth look on how to get them. But I will still give a brief take on the process for each.
Of course, for the 1,000,000C$, that one is pretty self explanatory. Simple go on a fishing rampage, sell enough fish and items, and you should have it in no time.
But for the other items, here is how you should go about them:
1. Shard of Time
This item is by far the hardest to get out of the 4 listed. To get it, you’ll need to gain access to the Chasm with Merlin’s Veil.
Once you enter the chasm, you will be Teleported to the Mineshaft. Now in that Mineshaft, you need to complete the quests required to get the Radiant Crystal, Rough Geode, and Cut Gem.
With these items, you gain access to another compartment which contains the Shard of Time.
2. Anomalous Log
To get this item, you simply need to fish for a log using a rod with the Anomalous Enchantment. You can find logs in different locations, but the key thing here is to use a low tier fishing rod.
3. Iron Chunk
To get this item, you first need to gain access to the Mineshaft through the Chasm. Once you are in the Mineshaft, locate the small pond close to the Mine tracks.
Now simply start fishing in that pond and you should catch an iron chunk pretty quickly. Bear in mind, this is not a high tier item, so it shouldn’t take too long to get it.
Once you have all 4 items, bring them back to Merlin and he will craft Merlin’s Staff Rod. You can also equip the Glided Staff skin you got from giving Merlin the Nebulas Shard.
Merlin’s Staff Rod Abilities and Stats
From the get go, you can already tell that this staff is a late game staff, given its high luck and lure speed. But before we talk about its abilities, here are the stats:
- Lure Speed: 80%
- Luck: 102.54%
- Control: 0.1
- Resilience: 50%
- Max Kg: infinitekg
Now its passive is quite unique, here’s why, once you have a fish inside the bar, the following happens:
- Your control slowly reduces until it reaches -0.2
- Once the control reaches -0.2, you immediately gain a 30% progress boost
- Afterwards, your control resets to its original form and the passive goes on a cooldown
- However, if the fish goes outside the bar before it reaches -0.2 control, the bar goes back to normal and the ability stops, this is the catch.

Another key part of this rod’s passive is the 25% chance for Magical mutation, which is a 7.2x multiplier.
In Conclusion
Merlin’s Rod is an extremely powerful rod, and I know for certain, it will be very high in our next tier list. This rod brings stats, and a mutation possibility that is certain worth the effort.
Speaking of effort, this rod is also not that difficult to get considering the requirements needed. But what do you think, is the Rod actually worth the effort?
