A-Tier characters may not be quite as broken as the top-tier picks, but they’re still excellent in almost every game mode.

B Tier Units (Good but Situational)

These units can definitely pull their weight, but they often rely on the right setup, mode, or support to shine.

Some are budget-friendly early-game units, while others are overshadowed by stronger versions of similar roles.

They’re good mid-tier fillers, but you’ll eventually want to replace them once you secure stronger pulls.

C Tier Units (Average, Story Mode Friendly)

C-Tier characters are mostly useful for beginners or for clearing early Story stages. They may look strong at first but quickly fall off as you progress.

They can still be fun or useful if you lack better summons, but they’re generally outclassed once you unlock higher tiers. Consider them stepping stones rather than long-term investments.

Gen Decent 4★ Weak against higher mobs
Expert Sorcerer Balanced DPS Low range
Kuroma Decent DPS Average overall
Ruwabara Decent SPA Low DPS

D Tier Units (Starters, Replace ASAP)

D-Tier units are best thought of as training wheels. They’re fine for brand-new players who just need something to get through the first few waves, but their poor scaling and limited utility mean you should replace them as soon as possible.

Once you pull almost any higher-tier unit, these should be rotated out of your lineup.

Unit Pros Cons
Masochist Lady Cheap DPS Weak overall
Freezer Decent early DPS Average scaling
Handsome-Jo Decent early DPS Hill-only
Ice Queen Freeze utility Long SPA, low DPS
Anti Magician Decent AoE Weak scaling
Ikki (Early) Decent AoE early Low growth

Final Thoughts on the ASTDX Tier List

That wraps up our All Star Tower Defense X Units Tier List (August 2025). With dozens of units inspired by anime icons, the real challenge isn’t just pulling new characters but knowing which ones are worth keeping in your lineup.

The S-Tier meta units like Michishibo, Slayer Mage, and Ziek (Beast Giant) can carry you through almost every mode, while A and B-Tier units give you reliable backup until you land those top-tier summons.

Remember, lower-tier characters aren’t completely useless, they can still help you clear early Story stages or act as placeholders until your gem farming pays off. As new updates drop, balance changes will continue to shift which units dominate Infinite or PvP, so keep an eye on banners and stay flexible with your team.

Which units are you running in your current deck? Have you pulled any S-Tier units yet, or are you making the most out of A and B-Tier supports?

Share your setups and strategies in the comments, the ASTDX community is always finding clever ways to push one more wave.
