There’s more to surviving 99 nights in the forest than simply upgrading campfires and gathering food. Which is why it is one of Roblox’s most challenging games.
First and foremost, you have the ultimate goal, which is to rescue all 4 children, but along the way, you’ll be faced with several types of enemies. And that’s why having a suitable weapon in the game is a necessity.
In this guide, we will take a look at all the weapons in 99 Nights in the Forest. Plus, we’ll take our time to describe their melee, damage, range, and source.
What are “weapons” in 99 Nights in the Forest
When you first join the game, especially if you don’t have a class, all you’ll be equipped with are an old axe and a sack. With the axe, you can get a bunny foot and trade it with the pelt trader.
But the axe technically isn’t considered a weapon. Sure it deals damage to enemies, but the real weapons are items solely focused on inflicting damage.
So no matter how sturdy your trusty axe is, it still serves other utilitarian functions that disqualifies it as a weapon.
Every weapon explained in 99 nights in the forest
Now we’ve gotten the what’s and ifs out of the way, it’s time to fully focus on weapons in 99 Nights.
Melee
These weapons have limited range and are used for close range attack. But on the plus side, they don’t require ammo.
The Spear

Starting off with the spear, and this is certainly one of the easiest weapons to get. You can find it in a good chest or by trading with the pelt trader.
But don’t forget, the spear is best used from the early to mid game, so make sure you upgrade to a better weapon as the days go by.
The Morningstar

Now this is a great late game weapon. And that’s because with its damage output, you can almost certainly oneshot any low tier mob in the game
But while it may not be the fastest weapon in the game, it is certainly one of the hardest hitters. Furthermore, the only way to get this weapon is by getting lucky with a gold chest.
The Katana

The katana is similar in damage to the spear with the exception that you’ll look super cool wielding it. In addition, it has fast attack speeds and dishes good damage to enemies.
So if like killing mobs but want to look cool while doing it, then this is the best weapon for that. You can get the katana as a starting item by using the Assassin Class.
Ice sword

Now this is a weapon that serves high damage with extra perks.
What this means is, when used against an enemy, the ice sword applies a short chill effect. Which essential slows down enemies a bit.
Thanks to this effect, you’ll have enough time to deal even more damage to them or even run away. But the only way to get this weapon us from an ice chests in the snow biome.
Laser sword

The laser sword is alien tech that can be obtained from alien chests or UFO crash sites. They deal higher attack than spear and their energy can be used for special attacks.
But watch out for that energy level because when it’s overheating, the damage is reduced until it has gotten time to recharge.
Trident

Trident is similar in damage to the morning star but it has similar stats like the spear (range). It’s the only weapon that can’t be obtained from a chest.
You can only get it by fishing in the skeleton lake. Making it a unique reward for players who enjoy fishing.
Poison spear

The poison spear is very similar to the regular spear but it has a special ability.
It inflicts poison damage to enemies which means that once they’re hit, it causes a small additional damage to them every second for 3 seconds.
You can find this weapon either from the Frog cave chest or whirlpool fishing.
Infernal sword

The infernal sword causes extremely high damage. It applies the burning effect to enemies when they’re hit.
Another special ability is that it automatically cooks food that’s dropped on it which would come in handy if you’re hungry and far away from your campsite.
You can get this item from Volcanic sacrifices or infernal chests.
Cultist King Mace

The cultist king mace currently has the highest hit damage out of every melee weapon currently available. Its attack speed is heavy but it renders deadly damage.
You can obtain it by defeating the cultist king in the volcanic biome.
Obsidiron Hammer

The obsidiron hammer is by far the most powerful melee weapon in the game. It deals high damage and creates a small explosion around the player after they deal enough damage.
You can find this weapon in the obsidiron chest.
Range
Range weapons can attack distant enemies.
Revolver

The revolver requires ammo. It has a cylinder size of 6. And it’s often considered one of the weaker range weapons.
Technically, you can be obtained in chests, from the pelt trader, or the ranger class.
Rifle

The rifle is a ranged weapon and requires rifle ammo. And what it lacks in ammo count (One per shot), it makes up for in damage output.
Most importantly, the weapon is very easy to get through chests, pelt trader, structures or the big game hunter class.
Tactical shotgun

The tactical shotgun requires shotgun ammo with a magazine capacity of 3. And despite being a ranged weapon it does deal more damage at close range much like a regular shotgun.
Sadly the only way to get this weapon is by getting lucky with ruby chests and workshops.
Snowball

The snowball doesn’t require any ammo. Once obtained, you receive 40 snowballs.
And once it’s used up, you lose the item. It also has a chilling effect although damage is low.
The snowball can be gotten from cold chests.
Frozen shuriken

Similar to the snowball, the frozen shuriken doesn’t need ammo. Although, you only get 70 upon per pickup.
When used to inflict damage, it applies a short chill effect (like the ice sword) slowing down the movements of the target.
You can get this weapon from ice chests, or when trick-or-treating.
Kunai

The kunai doesn’t require ammo as well. Although, you only get 100 kunai per chest.
This weapon deals moderate damage, and it is very good in the late game. You can get this ninja weapon from either the ruby chests or assassins class.
Laser canon

The laser cannon inflicts extremely high damage per shot.
It uses 50% of Alien tech energy per shot, slow firing.
You can get this beast from an alien chest, ufo crash sites, or cyborg class.
Ray gun

The ray gun inflicts high damage with unlimited ammo.
It’s a quick firing range weapon and takes up about 10% of alien tech energy per shot.
You can get this weapon from an Alien chest or UFO crash site, or as a starting item in the Alien class.
Flame thrower

The flamethrower doesn’t use ammo to work but it does use a fuel canister.
It’s great for crowd control because it’s capable of making several targets burn at once. And the damage inflicted is continuous.
This is yet another weapon you can only get from the pyromaniac class.
Blowpipe
The blowpipe poisons enemies that it hits. It has a magazine capacity of 3 and unlimited reserve ammo.
You can obtain it from frog chests, fishing (frog pond), or the poison master class.
Crossbow

While this is a decent weapon, its only selling point is that it has unlimited ammo. Besides that, it doesn’t really have that much going for it.
Why is that you may ask? That’s because the weapon fires a single shot per reload, and its arrow loses trajectory after some distance.
So good, but not great,
Wildfire

Just as the name suggests, wildfire is basically fire in a bottle. You can get this amazing crowd control weapon mostly in the lava Biome.
All you need is one bottle, and you can clear a massive amount of mobs in the game, that is if you can keep them in the fire.
Infernal Crossbow

Now this is one of the best late game weapons in the game. And that is not just because of its unlimited ammo (similar to the crossbow), but because unlike its counterpart it also deals fire damage to enemies.
It is incredibly rare, and you mostly get it from either the firebandit class, or from Volcano Sacrifices.
Final Thoughts
In the end, whatever weapon you choose to get depends mostly on your playstyle.
What that means is, you prefer the safety of hitting your enemies from a distance, then go with the ranged. But if you have good movements and zoning, then you’ll find more success with Melee weapons.
Regardless, play to your strengths, and don’t forget to have fun doing it.
