(Update) How to fix ‘ZED 398 Swift Clover’ Error Code in COD

Ever since the Season 1 update of Black Ops Cold War went live, players haven’t been able to keep their cool. Players all across the world and across different platforms were more than excited to try out the all-new update and get their hands on the truckload of content that the Season 1 Pass has to offer.

The integration of both COD Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has really hyped up the update. This also means that in Warzone you can find all the weapons of the Cold War you unlocked in the Black Ops Cold War.

There are new weapons to test out, new modes to dominate in, and three new operators. This is a great deal of content to drop straight away, and sadly the start of the season is bumpy.

In this article, we will be discussing the bump which many players had faced and how to fix it. So, without further ado, let’s dive straight into it.

How to fix ‘ZED 398 Swift Clover’ Error Code in COD:

So, the slight bump which has been causing all the ripples across the COD fraternity is the ZED 398 Swift Clover error code. This error is particularly annoying because, the ‘ZED 398 Swift Clover’ error, won’t let PC users play multiplayer mode on COD Black Ops: Cold War.

Here are some of the ways by which you can fix the annoying bug in the game:

  • Playing on another system.

Use cross-progress to keep playing Call of Duty in a console when available. The only users to be met with an error “Zed 398 Swift Clover” tend to be PC players.

  • Going for a different game mode.

Using “Quick Select” choose a different game type to play. We found matches by selecting only Search and Destroy from the list.

  • Restarting the game

This is perhaps one of the oldest tricks in the book to go for in case the game crashes. We have found that in some cases, this trick actually does the work and players can enjoy the game without any hindrance.

  • Rebooting the PC

Well, if restarting the game didn’t work out for you it is time to follow up on the second oldest trick in the book, which is to reboot the entire system. In case restarting the game fails, a good old reboot of the entire system might help flush out the bugs which have been causing the error.

So, restart the PC and then immediately open Call of Duty (before opening any other apps).

The Official Fix

If none of the above-mentioned tricks worked out for you, then we speculate that the sheer traffic of players trying to play the game is causing this hiccup. Well, fear not the Official Fix is already up and rolling in the new update.

Players can now find a new 2.6GB update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War which has gone live on Battle Net. That should get rid of the Zed 398 Swift Clover error for good.

This is one of the most hyped games of 2020. No wonder people have been going absolutely bonkers for playing the game, hence the uncontrollable traffic causing the hiccups.

However, Treyarch and @BeenoxTeam were competent enough to come up with a working fix for the game in no time. All that is left to do now, is to go and enjoy the game!
