If you have been playing Grow a Garden, you might be aware of the Cooking event in the game.
It introduces a new mechanic where players can cook food items using fruits and ingredients they’ve farmed.
These food items aren’t just cosmetic, they’re the key to unlocking Gourmet Seed Packs, Gourmet Eggs, and some of the best rewards in the game.
How the Cooking Event Works
To start cooking, you’ll need to visit the cooking area in the lobby. There you’ll see a pot and a board showing the cooking timer.
Here’s what to do:

Hold the fruits needed for a recipe.

Walk up to the pot and press E.

Submit your ingredients. You can remove or add fruits before confirming.

Hit the green “Cook” button and wait for the timer.

Once ready, press E again to collect your food.

Each recipe creates a food item with a rarity, and that rarity determines your rewards when feeding it to the Pig NPC (Chris P.). The higher the rarity (especially Prismatic and Divine), the better your loot.
When the craving timer shows “Sushi would be nice,” and you give him a Prismatic Sushi – you’re very likely to walk away with something rare.
You can get everything from Mutation Sprays to exclusive pets and Gourmet items by impressing Chris P.

How to Feed Food to the Pig NPC:
Once you’ve cooked your item, find the Pig NPC named Chris P. in the lobby.
Above his head, you’ll see a timer with a food craving.
When it says something like “Cake would be nice,” here’s what to do:
- Hold the correct food item
- Walk up to Chris P.
- Press E
- Choose “Try this food I cooked up!”
- He’ll rate your cooking and give you a reward
