Can you Chat on Roblox on Xbox?
Yes, you chat on Roblox, but only through voice chat. The text chat feature is currently unavailable. It was removed in 2021 in 2021. This decision was made for several reasons, such as:
- Age Rating: Roblox is rated E10+ on Xbox, requiring stricter moderation for text content.
- Encouraging Party Chat: Microsoft aims to promote the use of Xbox Live Party Chat.
- User Safety: Text chat can expose children to inappropriate content and interactions.
- Technical Limitations: Moderating text chat effectively requires significant resources.
- Third-Party Communication: Concerns exist about luring players away from Xbox.
- Keyboard Support: Typing on controllers is impractical for text chat.
Does Roblox Voice Chat work on Xbox
Yes, Roblox voice chat does work on Xbox. There are two ways to use voice chat while playing Roblox on Xbox:
1. Roblox Integrated Voice Chat:

When you join a game with a microphone connected, you will automatically be placed in voice chat with other players in the experience.
You can adjust the voice chat settings within the Roblox app on Xbox.
Note: You must have voice communication enabled in your Xbox Settings.
2. Xbox Live Party Chat:
You can use this feature to chat with any of your Xbox Live friends, regardless of whether they are playing Roblox or not.
Overriding In-Experience Chat: When you’re in an Xbox Live Party Chat, it automatically takes priority over Roblox’s in-experience chat.
